Maresh Vineyard has produced legendary Pinot Noir for more than thirty years. It was originally planted by Jim Maresh in the Dundee Hills on lava soil. Previously, the Wine Spectator said of our 2006 Pinot Noir Maresh Vineyard: “Firm in texture, weaving carpaccio and savory spice flavors through the cherry and raspberry fruit, coming together on the harmonious finish. Has style and power without excess weight. (91).” This year’s possesses intensity, complexity, and refinement.
Dad: Similar nose, lush mouthfeel & long minerally finish as prior vintages, but with dark cherries, black raspberries and plums.
Fille: This year’s Maresh possesses stately presence and depth that reminds me of Meryl Streep, a pair of Ferragamo ballet flats, or a classic Mercedes-Benz convertible. Its pedigree shows in its refined character and balance. The almost inky color leads to a nose with red berries and floral notes, which are carried through in the flavor. The minerality of this wine would pair well with dinners of game, pork, and mushrooms.
