Berries in fermenter

2007 Maresh Pinot Noir

Maresh Vineyards has produced legendary Pinot Noir for more than thirty years. It was originally planted by Jim Maresh in the Dundee Hills on lava soil. Last year, the Wine Spectator said of our Pinot Noir Maresh Vineyard: “Firm in texture, weaving carpaccio and savory spice flavors through the cherry and raspberry fruit, coming together on the harmonious finish. Has style and power without excess weight. (91).” This year’s also possesses complexity and refinement.

Dad: Big intoxicating nose of cherry liqueur, sage and smoke. Pie cherry and stone fruit on the palate. Long finish with Chablis-like minerality.

Fille: We have developed high expectations of Maresh Vineyard wines, and this is a worthy successor to our past vintages, with a leaner profile and longer finish. The garnet color leads you to a lovely nose accented by red fruit and touch of blueberry. It reminds me of Cate Blanchett- always elegant and dignified in any situation.
