Palmer Creek VineyardSituated in the Eola-Amity Hills, Palmer Creek Vineyard is 10 acres of pinot noir planted in 1999. There are two acres each of Pommard and Dijon clones 113, 114, 115, and 777. All are on 3309 rootstock, and spacing is 8 x 5. In 2006, 5 additional acres of Pommard was planted. The land slopes to the east from a high point of 350' of elevation, and the soils are about evenly split between Yamhill and Woodburn. In 2003, the vineyard received certification as a LIVE vineyard. This certification affirms owner's Janet and Larry Richards' belief to be environmentally friendly in their viticulture practices. The Richards are positively relentless in their pursuit of high quality wine grapes. Through 2008 we have been getting the 777 clone of pinot noir. Starting in 2009 we will also be getting some Pommard clone as well.
