Maresh VineyardEt Fille started making wines from the Maresh Vineyard in 2005 . Maresh is an old vineyard for Oregon, having been first planted in 1970 by Jim and Loie Maresh. Located in the Dundee Hills, it was the first vineyard planted on Worden Hill Road just outside of the town of Dundee. The soil type is Jory. Maresh Vineyard has produced legendary Pinot Noir for more than thirty years. We have been lovers of wines from this vineyard since the 1983 vintage. We feel honored to be making grapes from this site. We get fruit from the Reservoir (Block 11) block, as well as some fruit from the adjacent Block 12. Both blocks are at or above 700' elevation. The Reservoir block is the only block in the vintage running East-West. It was planted in 1975 as chardonnay and grafted to pommard in 1997- 98. In 1998-99 pommard was planted on its own roots where the grafts had failed. It is dry farmed and no herbicides have been used. Starting in 2007, some of the blocks are switching over to biodynamic farming. The grapes harvested for us are exclusively pommard, and in 2007 some wadensvil clones as well from Block 1 (really old!).
