Kalita Vineyard Et Fille started making wines from the Kalita Vineyard in 2004 . This is a young vineyard in a lovely south, southeast and southwest facing bowl. The vineyard, owned by Sherry and Arthur Kalita, is 22 acres of pinot noir near Willakenzie Estates and Shea Vineyards. It is situated on Willakenzie soil at an altitude that varies between 400 and 800. Through 2007, our blocks run to the top of the vineyard. The grapes harvested for us are exclusively pommard and wadensvil clones. Jessica and Howard checking conditions at Kalita Vineyard. The grapes here were harvested five days later. The rows of vines at Kalita Vineyards have a maze like feeling, especially as you climb uphill. Samples are collected from a representative set of vines, so there is lots of climbing up and down the vineyard. Perhaps it's penance for getting to taste the wine so frequently later.
