Current Wines Available from Et Fille
As daughters often see things differently than fathers, it is fitting that we keep our custom of presenting two ways to describe our current wines. Et Fille 2006 Elton Pinot Noir The Elton Vineyard is an older vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills. The Et Fille/Elton story is one of bookends. Our 2005 was our first year with these wonderful grapes, and this year is our last year with them. Sadly (for us), Elton has been leased to a large winery, and many small wineries have lost their ability to purchase grapes. So this lovely 2006 Pinot Noir is your last chance to get an Et Fille Elton Vineyard. Of our 2005 Elton, the Wine Spectator said: "Crisp and immensely generous, pumping away at its blackberry, cherry and delicate spice flavors on a lithe, medium-weight frame, with a finish that won't quit. An expressive wine with great presence. Best from 2008 through 2015." (93 points) To round the edges off the tannins, we kept the 2006 Elton in barrel for 7 months longer than our other Pinot Noirs. It was worth it. If you liked our 2005 Elton, we think you will love this one. The Et Fille team says of the 2006 Elton: Dad: Seductive floral & berry aromas, cherry & raspberry flavors, glacial finish. A long lived wine. Fille: Our 2006 Elton Pinot Noir reminds me of Lauren Bacall- gorgeous and lithe in her youth, transforming into polished elegance as she matured. Decant our Elton for early drinking and you will be rewarded with a luxurious nose of flowers and huckleberry jam, cherries and huckleberries on the palate, then minerals and white pepper melding with the cherries on the long finish. If you are patient and lay down the Elton for 3-12 years, you will be rewarded with a wine worthy of a Bacall-Bogart toast.
Price: $45/bottle, $486/case Et Fille 2006 Kalita Vineyard Pinot Noir Kalita Vineyard, located in the Yamhill-Carlton district of Oregon, is owned by Arthur and Sherry Kalita. Wine Spectator found beauty in our 2005 Kalita and rated it a 91. Our 2006 Kalita has nearly the full intensity and lush mouth feel of the 2004, but with the grace of the 2005. It is, we believe, the best Kalita yet and we are excited about it. Dad: Black cherries throughout, with cola and herbs on the complex nose and palette, and into the very long finish. Fille: Did you know we are baseball fans? Not only have we survived running the winery together, but Dad is a Yankees fan while I am a Red Sox fan. Dad says our 2006 Kalita has the power of Alex Rodriguez, but I think it is like Big Papi David Ortiz. Either way, the intense blackberry color leads to a palate of jammy cherries and plum. This can hold up to meal of beef, lamb, or game. PS, Dad: Do we have to talk about baseball this year?
Price: $38.00/bottle, $410.40/case Et Fille 2006 Maresh Vineyard Pinot Noir
Maresh
Vineyard has produced legendary Pinot Noir for more than thirty
years. It was originally planted by Jim Maresh. Last year, the Wine
Spectator said of our Maresh Vineyard Pinot Noir: Supple and
velvety in texture, this bursts with blueberry and currant fruit,
with creamy, spicy overtones adding depth to the distinctive finish.
Has tremendous presence and style, yet remains refined (93).
This years also possesses complexity. Dad: Light color, complex nose & palette of pie cherries & minerals. Lavish mouth feel. Trance-like, long, complex finish Fille: This wine is grown in the Dundee Hills red soil. As such, the color of this wine looks like the earth climbed right up into the glass and settled in. The aroma is highlighted by violet and yields to a palate of chocolate and vanilla. This is smooth luxury- like the curved lines of a Jaguar.
Price: $42.00/bottle, $453.60/case Et Fille Wines 2007 Viognier Deux Vert Vineyard Our 2007 viognier once again comes from grapes at Deux Vert Vineyard in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. This year, however, our viognier is perfectly dry . Compared to the 2006, our 2007 is not quite as sumptuous on the palate, but far more elegant. Many of you found our 2006 viognier to be a superb accompaniment to a wide spectrum of foods. Our Best-Friend-Chef-certified taste tests confirm that the 2007 is an even better food-friendly wine. Try a bottle of our 2007 with a meal and we believe you will become a viognier fan. Dad: Tropical and dried fruit aromas & flavors, crisp acidity, restrained elegance. Fille: Food, food, food, this viognier is all about food. If you do your own cooking for special dinners as I do, this is the wine you will want to show off your meal of crab, or scallops, oysters, Thai food, chicken, turkey, jambalaya, or avocados. With each bite of food followed by a sip of our viognier's complex flavor profile, as the viognier lingers on their palates your guests will think they are dining with Ina Garten.
Price: $26.00/bottle, $280.80/case Et Fille Wines 2007 Rosé Our 2007 Rosé is made with Pinot Noir grapes from the Blakeslee, Shaw Mountain, Kalita and Palmer Creek vineyards. More fragrant than our previous Rosés, this Rosé is equally dry, refreshing and fruity. Dad: Pretty color, excellent aromatics, refreshing acidity, strawberry flavors. Fille: It's summer, it's hot, and you just got home from the afternoon commute. You plop down in a chair on the deck/patio, nibble on some tiny snacks, and drink some Et Fille 2007 Rosé while staring at the distant clouds. Ahhhhh, home at last!
Price: $16.00/bottle, $172.80/case Et Fille 2006 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Our Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is hand crafted from pommard clones. Like its predecessor from 2005, we expect people to sing its praises as an exceptional value. Dad: Raspberries & red cherries on the intense nose and palette, followed by a long finish. Fille: Our 2006 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is like Cameron Diaz- fun, spirited, and more attractive than the girl next door. It has a cranberry color, nose of red cherries and strawberries with a hint of rose, and a palate that finishes with white pepper and spice. This is a sipping wine- perfect before dinner.
Sorry, sold out Et Fille 2006 Palmer Creek Vineyard Pinot Noir The Palmer Creek Vineyard in the Eola Hills of Oregon is meticulously tended by owners Janet and Larry Richards. We have been proudly producing single vineyard wines from lovely Palmer Creek since 2003 and this release possesses its characteristic balance. Our 2004 Palmer Creek was rated at 4 stars by the Food and Wine Wine Guide and called it a "Graceful, restrained wine." The 2005 Palmer Creek was rated 91 by the Wine Spectator. Dad: Complex red berry & floral aromas. Red berries and minerals on the palette and in the long finish. Fille: Drinking our 2005 Palmer Creek feels like cruising down the road in a convertible on a sunny afternoon-expansive, freeing, and undemanding. It has a plum color and its aroma is punctuated by a woodsy character that opens to a creamy mouth feel. This wine will complement appetizers or meals of poultry, pork, or salmon.
Sorry, sold out
